Searched unsuccessfully for the Great Grey Shike up on Ashdow Forest this afternoon. There were plenty of Meadow Pipits and Reed Buntings about, as well as a single Yellohammer.
This morning on the patch vis mig continued to be excellent and included; ca. 35 Woodpigeons, 24 Meadow Pipits, 13 Skylarks, 7 Reed Buntings, 7 Redwings, 4 Linnets, 4 alba wags, 2 Redpolls, a Siskin, a Fieldfare and a Common Gull as well as a steady trickle of Goldfinches and Chaffinches. The Kingfisher seemed to have moved on, but there was a Grey Wag and 3 Cormorants there. 5 Goldcrests were laso grounded around the patch.
